Meet Branly Lòpez Quemé.

During several years I have been embracing the Mayan ancient spirituality that was shared to me by women and men elders of the ‘Maya-K’iche’ community in the highlands of Guatemala. As a ‘Maya-K’iche’ I wanted to contribute to my community by becoming an ‘Ajq’ij’ or time-keeper, the person that keeps and shares the Mayan spirituality and gives spiritual advice and guidance.

For centuries, the Mayan spiritual have been kept secret and only transmitted orally because of colonial and neo-colonial thinking and practices like discrimination, racism and genocide. 
Nowadays we do not live in the ancient Mayan cities, we do not use the temples, however our spirituality and culture has survived and keeps fighting against oblivion. We the Mayans keep fighting for our right to be.

The Mayan sacred seeds Reading:
The Maya Sacred Seeds or ‘Tz’ite’, which come from Pito’s tree are given to the Maya ‘Ajq’ij’, day-keeper or time-keeper during his or her spiritual path. They are the energy of the universe that is going to accompany the spiritual service of the ‘Ajq’ij’.

The time-keeper asks permission to the ancestors to open his/her sacred bundle full of ‘Tz’ite’ or seeds of fire. The day-keeper asks for permission to move the energy of the whole universe condensed in the sacred seeds in order to ask for wisdom, guidance and direction from spiritual realms related to a question, issue or situation of a persons destiny. In this reading past, present and future co-exist in an eternal present.

The Mayan Flower of 9 Petals:
When one is born the Universe imprints on that person an energy which is represented as a nawal, energy or seal and a number, also known as tone. Both nawal and tone in ‘Maya-k’iche’ language is called ‘uwach uk’ij’. This means “the face of our day” or the face of our inner cosmic energy. Through the combination of a nawal and a tone a person can get into their inner flower of 9 petals or the map of 9 petals that will help him/her to understand his/her purpose in life. The flower of 9 petals is also known as “The Path of Feathered Serpent”.

In the Mayan spirituality the Flower of 9 petals and the Sacred seeds or ‘Tz’ite’ are two ways to get to know our energy in order to get conscious about our purpose in this life. The Flower of 9 Petals is sort of a map that can help to embrace our spiritual energy. The Sacred seeds are used to get guidance according to a situation or a question related to our destiny.
