 Heavenly Bodies and Sexuality Speaker: Jeanette Groenendaal Rooted in Amsterdam’s avant-garde and queer art scene, filmmaker-astrologer Jeanette Groenendaal presents her ongoing research into sexuality, symbolism, and inclusive astrology. Drawing from decades of artistic and astrological practice, the session reconsiders how planetary archetypes shape desire and identity beyond heteronormative codes. Participants are invited to engage with Jeanette’s astrological game, which opens new ways to speak, imagine, and reframe our sexual complexities. Between astrology and language, taboo and transformation, this workshop explores how the heavens reflect the full spectrum of human intimacy and creative becoming. Jeanette Groenendaal — filmmaker, astrologer, and researcher with an MA in Theater, based in the heart of Amsterdam, where she maintains a lively astrological practice. She has studied astrology in France, Amsterdam, India, and New York since 1987. Founder of We Are Stardust, she unites consultations, salons, pilgrimages, and the Stardust Channel. Her film Dramayama explores the Navagraha temples as sites of ritual astronomy. Through Sens du Futur, her scent lab for aromatherapy and astrology, she investigates the alchemy of influence. As Agent 76 for the CIA* (Cosmic Intelligence Agency) and columnist for ELLE, Papers, Harper’s Bazaar, Holistik, and TIMELORDS, she lectures on heavenly bodies, sexuality, and inclusivity in the Amsterdam art scene. In mijn Amsterdamse astrologie praktijk heb ik sinds de jaren 80 veel te maken met avant garde, underground, kunstenaars, transseksuele, trans gender, queer, chemsex, seksverslaving en polyamoreuze tantra ontdekkingen reizigers. Ook ik heb ontdekt dat seksualiteit een groot aandeel heeft in relatie-geluk of het zoeken naar identiteit en erkenning. Niets nieuws onder de maan, zon of asteroïden regen zou je zeggen? Als astrologen hebben we altijd al een uitbreidend vocabulaire proberen te formuleren voor diversiteit in pluriformiteit, maar als we onze oude symbolentaal en planetaire clichés aan LGBTQ&A klanten of ouders van transgender kinderen voorleggen terwijl we naar de horoscoop kijken dan leren we nog steeds de nieuwe uitingsvormen in de horoscoop te lezen. Dat we openlijk over de astrologische mogelijkheden kunnen meedenken is uiterst belangrijk. In een ouderwetse heteroseksuele astrologie duiding vergeten we wel vaker hoe dynamieken van planeten tegenovergesteld uit kunnen werken in een andere seksuele relatievorm. Onderzoek naar astrologie en diversiteit op het gebied van seksuele oriëntatie of de caleidoscoop van menselijke seksuele diversiteit en onderzoek of astrologische constellaties een rol kunnen spelen bij het vormgeven van onze seksuele geaardheid. Kijk samen met mij naar een aantal ontwikkelingen in horoscopen en duik samen in een onderzoek hoe we seksualiteit in al haar diversiteit wel gewoon bespreekbaar en vooral in ontwikkeling kunnen houden.  |
